E1CBL International Players

The Elite 1’s Caribbean basketball league (E1CBL) is the Caribbean’s first men’s professional basketball league. On January 7th, 2023 the upcoming season for E1CBL will begin and will end with the league championship on January 29th, 2023.

 “To know that Jamaica is one of the first English-speaking countries to have a professional basketball league is a big deal, not just for organizers, but also for local players,” Dave Black, a player manager of E1CBL who has been coaching basketball for the past 12 years commented. Mr. Black also expressed his excitement for this upcoming season.

All athletes interested in participating in the upcoming season have begun training in their respective countries. With this in consideration, E1CBL currently offers virtual training programs to all interested athletes to assist with their individual training. Additionally, on November 27, 2023, a training camp was hosted at GC Foster College for all local athletes. A final training session will be held for all the selected athletes in January 2023 before the start of the new season.

Players for the upcoming season will officially be announced on December 12, 2023, however, fans can look forward to seeing players such as Antjuan McFarlane, a local Jamaican player, and approximately 50 others who will be selected from both local and international countries. 

The season’s coaches will be selected and trained by Alph Remikie, the director of coaches for E1CBL. 

Wayne Dawkins, CEO of Dawkins Sports Management, expressed his thoughts on the upcoming league. He believes it is important that the professional league takes root as it will impact the development of players, help to keep the youth motivated and create role models for others to emulate.

The Dawkins Sports Management will be hosting the Elite 1’s Caribbean basketball league which begins on January 7th, 2023 and ends on February 4th, 2023 at the National Arena in Kingston, Jamaica.
