Celebrating outside of our immediate circle isn’t easy to do but it is truly one of the greatest ways to build relationships, shine a light on ignorance, inspire, encourage and so much more.

I remember my West Hill CI team in 2004 getting beat by Roy Rana’s Eastern Commerce team by almost 60pts in the playoffs and then weeks later standing on a stage giving him coach of the year for Canada and his squad team of the year. Fast forward and today he is one of my greatest friends and mentors.

In1998 I gave out the first Mr. Basketball and Coach of the year awards and over 20 years later in 2019 I had the honor of inducting our first members into the P.H.A.S.E. 1 Journey Awards Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame.

It has truly become one of my favorite P.H.A.S.E. 1 initiatives to celebrate the accomplishments of the dedicated members of the basketball communty at ALL levels.

The  2021 P.H.A.S.E. 1 Journey Awards planning is underway and it is even more exciting for me because this year I will be joined by the P.H.A.S.E. 1 Alumni Committee to continue the legacy with more awards and more honors!
